Salsa Season

My stove has been going full time for two days and so far I’ve only gone through three out of ten boxes of tomatoes. And I leave town on Thursday for nearly a week. Um…I might have gotten a wee bit ambitious with the salsa thing.

I’ve been working so hard on my book that Bear has had to pick up a ton of slack. He’s pitched in for laundry, does dinner every night, handles Atti all evening long, and the only thing he’s asked in return is that I not miss salsa season. He’s been waiting for this all year long.

My friend Regina is coming over to help out, but I think by the end of this I’ll be so sick of salsa I won’t ever want to eat it. But probably not. I’m rarely one to turn down food.

In and around my writing and salsa making, I’ve done some interviews. This one is up at the BBC, and then later today (12 noon Pacific, 3 Eastern) I’ll be doing a google hangout with my new friend Allana Pratt, my fellow Maker Mom! Come and find us where we’ll be talking about how mom can get her groove back.

  1. I am so impressed that you can all that stuff! I keep wanting to get a chest freezer for the garage so I can make a bunch of stuff in advance. Though canning food probably makes it last longer than freezing with the whole freezer-burn deal.
