Nail Stickers

The fad of nail art is one that I’m only paying the barest attention to. I’ve basically just been using it as an excuse to paint my nails every once in a blue moon. As a mom and a cook and a crafter, my nails face a triple threat of chips and breakage, so manicures are usually shortlived and not worth the effort.

I found these Sally Hansen nail stickers at WalMart and decided to give them a try. At $8 a box it’s a bit of a splurge, but certainly cheaper than a professional job. Each box has stickers for one application, but since I am cheap, I was able to cut them apart and get two out of them. It definitely helps if your nails are on the shorter side to make that work.

I used a clear base coat, applied the stickers, and then covered with a clear topcoat, and these nails looked fantastic for nearly two weeks. Right after application a couple of them tried to lift up in the corners, but I used a little more topcoat to stick them back down and these suckers didn’t go anywhere. These were my best beauty purchase in a long long time.

  1. I would love to keep polish on my nails, but as you said-sewing, crafting, mom-ing, and all those other things prevent it. Also, nail polish always peels off my finger nails. Toe nails stay looking great for weeks and weeks, finger nails peel after two days. I wonder if these would stick better? Hmmm….certainly wouldn't be too costly to find out, would it?
