Announcing my new Youtube Channel!!

It’s finally time for me to announce one of the big massive projects I’ve been working on over here that has had me so distracted. Along with my two blogs and assorted writing projects, I’ll now also be producing a webseries!

The folks at Maker Studios found me and invited me to join their network The Moms View. Their work is really thrilling to me. I’ve been wanting to get into video for ages and ages. Even before I was a blogger I appeared on QVC and wanted to do more television guest spots. Over the years I’ve auditioned for television shows, I’ve pitched television shows, I’ve been met with some interest, but ultimately nothing worked out because ‘nobody wants crafting now.’

That I find just baffling. In the age of etsy? No one wants a craft show?

After my last rejection I just said to myself, “I am a blogger. Why am I trying so hard to do this the old-fashioned way? Why don’t I just do this myself?!”

Which is where Maker came in. I’d been talking with people, weighing my options, trying to decide if I wanted to do a podcast or youtube videos, and what shape they would take. I was nearly ready to sign up with one company when I met the folks from The Moms View at one of my blogging conferences. I immediately felt like they got it. And they already had a number of other women producing great content and supporting one another in the process. I knew it was what I had been looking for.

So as part of The Moms View network, I’ll be producing two videos a week. On Tuesdays I’ll be posting a vlog where I talk about personal stuff, what I think about things, my philosophies, and just sharing my heart. On Thursdays I’ll be posting a creative project – a craft or a recipe – and walk you through step by step instructions.

The other women I’ll be working with are such a diverse group and have so much to share. I feel like I’m right on the cusp of the next big thing, which is a pretty exhilarating place to be. Please come and check out my channel, please subscribe – that makes a big difference on my end of things – and please leave me comments if there’s anything you’d like me to talk about in my weekly vlogs. I have a notoriously big mouth, but I’m worried that eventually even I will run out of things to say.

I'm so glad we found each other!!!!! I love your introduction vlog. I couldn't agree more. I'm so over thinking about what other people think. I'm all about becoming a better version of myself and becoming more creative, I'm actually going to be doing the big chop this weekend!!! I'm getting rid for my relaxer once and for all. That's my way of becoming a better me. I'm going back to my roots!!

I just signed on as a maker mom, and I'm so excited to get to know everyone. Despite the different adversities you've experienced, you're still warm and pleasant. I admire that. I can't wait to read and watch more!

    • Me too! Thanks so much for your kind words. I love your videos too, your daughter is scrumptious! I am impressed with you going all natural! I have always envied the tight curls and afros and even close cropped hair of my black friends, but I know when I say that they roll their eyes at me. The grass is always greener so we have to just own who we are!!
